The Skinny Center is excited to welcome Maria Avellino, WHNP, CNM, RN to their expanding practice. Serving as a nurse practitioner for over 10 years, Maria is driven to empower her patients, working collaboratively with them to focus on wellness and preventative care. Maria shares, “I find it incredibly gratifying to be able to give clients the tools to really understand their body and how to optimize its functioning. I am thrilled to be able to serve in this role to help guide others to feel their best, motivating them to take control of their weight, health and well-being.” In addition to making the science and physiology graspable, Maria also offers insight into the importance of the mind-body connection in one’s overall health and fitness.
“My practice has been rapidly expanding over the last year, and we have finally reached the point where I require additional assistance in order to serve our patients. We conducted a thorough search, and I am overjoyed that we were able to locate Maria. She began in early December and has already proven to be an invaluable asset,” says Mitch Suss, CEO & founder of the Skinny Center. “Patients who have interacted with her have given me positive feedback. She is approachable, funny, extremely knowledgeable, and down-to-earth. Maria will analyze and interpret the genetic markers and blood values that comprise your unique body chemistry, as well as identify physiological imbalances that are preventing you from losing weight. She will assist patients in managing complex disease states and will recommend appropriate medical protocols based on your specific needs,” continues Mitch.
“Optimal body chemistry leads to more energy, weight loss, improved cognitive function, and a higher quality of life; however, unless I see what your blood looks like under a microscope, there is no way for us to determine what steps you should take to protect your health and help you reach your weight loss goal. Health 365 is a great tool for that to happen,” says Maria.
At a time when health care is still in flux, it’s heartening to know that Nurse Practitioners like Maria are effecting positive change. Her leadership, determination, and old-fashioned hard work make her a role model for new NPs as well as seasoned NPs wondering how they, too, can make a difference. “I’m so excited for the future of our practice with additions like Maria” says Dr. Aaron Spingarn, medical director of The Skinny Center.
